Osteopathy by A229 Medway Osteopath Clinic
“Osteopathy is described as that done by osteopaths” Gary Lutz (of A229 Medway Osteopathic Clinic, based on City Way, Rochester, Kent)
Osteopathy can and is used to treat a range of conditions from back problems, shoulder injuries, neck ache to even sprained ankles and whip lash. Osteopaths use gentle manipulation treatment to adjustment of the body, both to itself and its environment.
For over 20 years A229 Medway Osteopath Clinic has been helping people of all ages within Rochester, the Medway towns, Kent and south east London who suffer from the symptoms such as backache, stiff neck, disc injuries, knee problems, sciatica and lower back ache. As well as treatments to help patients get out of pain immediately the osteopath Gary Lutz delivers on going treatment plans for patients with recurring pain and ongoing conditions. These treatment plans may include lower back strengthening exercises, on going treatment, posture advice and even diet and exercise changes.

Many people visit the osteopath on City Way for a treatment when they are experiencing back spasms. Back spasms occur as the body tries to sort out its over all heath problems, manipulation adjustments, exercise and diet can all help back spasms as well as alleviate them in future. Cranial osteopathy is described as a subtle and refined form of osteopathic treatment used to encourage the release of tension and stress throughout the body. Cranial osteopathy is a system usually used on children, although it can form a part of any treatment. Osteopaths can utilise different forms of cranial osteopathy and practitioners at the A229 Medway Osteopathic Clinic are trained in Littlejohn cranial osteopathic techniques.
The A229 Medway Osteopathic clinic utilises 3 types of treatment couches in order to use the right adjustment for each patient. A combination of classical straight table and drop table techniques are used in most cases, with an articulating table for helping relieve pain around the spine through gentle movement.

"Many thanks to Gary and Benjamin at the Medway Osteopath Clinic who helped me after my car accident in Spring 2009. I suffered from whiplash, which was making it hard to move my neck but after just one treatment I could feel a vast improvement. Since then I have gone back on numerous occasions for other aches and pains." Lillian Downey - Rochester
Continuing Professional Development
Osteopaths and Osteomyologists, like all other healthcare professionals, are obliged by their regulating bodies to undertake regular “Continuing Professional Development” (CPD
This is done partly as part of the natural process of regular personal study and partly in the company of others.
At the A229 Medway Osteopathic Clinic our practitioners have 3 hour monthly meetings with other osteopaths to discuss, theorise, practice and explore treatment of patients with a whole range of problems.
This year we have, for example, dealt with the treatment of patients with pneumonia, gallstones, pregnancy, all manner of musculoskeletal twists and turns, spinal problems and even caffeine overdose!
Patient anonymity and confidentiality are maintained at all time.
